Vulcan Venture - Undumped rev.?

Tokrot another byteswap question... i read the program rom from Truxton 2 and it did not match the one in MAME i thought it was strange as i have read this rom before and it matched the MAME one perfect then... so i checked what has been changed in MAME since then and saw this comment: "0.117u1: Alex Jackson replaced Truxton 2 byteswapped M68K program ROM (cpu1 $0) with correct one."

So did i not read it correctly or is MAME wrong? :-)
It's a M27c4002.

So that means i can't program the Truxton 2 program rom because it's big endian and the programmer only handles low endian?

so why does it byteswap it in the first place then (when i read it i mean) if it really is ok with big endian?

Then there is a bug with my programmer software or something? It should not modify the data from the rom when reading it.
